No, gmail wouldn't change tlk to talk, but you may have it the wrong 
way in an address book, or something, from which gmail is pulling 
it.  Also, gmail does not send a copy of a message you post to a 
list, back to you, so it may look like your messages aren't going 
through, when they are.
