Ok fellow listers, I preregistered for the NFB of WA convention, October 19-21 in Everett. Per Mike Freeman's earlier post I sent in my check. Here's what he said:

"If people preregister, the cost of convention registration will be $10 per person and the cost of meals (Friday dinner and Saturday banquet) will be $60 per person for a total cost of $70. If people do not preregister, the cost of convention registration will be $15 per person and the cost of the two meals will be $65 for a total cost of $80 per person. Preregistration ends at close of business on October 9."

>From my standpoint, this is a good investment. I also know that we are planning an auction, and unless I'm replaced, as the auctioneer I hope to raise lots of funds for the organization. So, please, please, please, try to solicit items that are exciting, preferably new, and things that folks want to buy. I'll do my auctioneer's best to squeeeeeeze the last penny from anyone brave enough to enter the bidding wars. (Grin.)

As we remember, Patti Chang, NFB national Board Member from Chicago will be with us for that weekend, and we can count on her to be a rock star national rep, not to mention, she's a lawyer. ... (grin.)

Finally, don't forget to get your hotel reservations in. Here's what Mike Freeman, ... remember him, the President, says about that,

"The NFB of Washington convention for 2012 will be upon us sooner than we realize. It will take place at the Holiday Inn Downtown-Everett, 3105 Pine Street, Everett, WA, on October 19, 20 and 21. To make reservations, please call (425) 339-2000. When making your reservations, please indicate that you will be attending the convention of the NFB of Washington. I urge all to make reservations as soon as possible. Guaranteeing a large number of rooms by September 19 will stand us in good stead when negotiating future conventions and will guarantee that there are rooms for all."

Room rates are $89 per night for singles and doubles; $99 per night for triples and quads. There will be a tax of approximately 15% added per night to the cost of rooms."

Oh, yes, I'm Bennett Prows, and I approved this message!!
