[nfbwatlk] voting in Kitsap county

I can understand the security concern. But when I talked to Luanne, she mentioned that with all of the work she has done regarding voting accessibility, she has not encountered sufficient evidence that voter fraud is enough of a problem for security to be the reason an online system is refused as an option. She is one person, and other opinions are certainly legitimate, but for me, it seems like a good idea. It is already being implemented for overseas military, so it is just a matter of making sure the platform is accessible and that the option is extended to voters with disabilities. I know that many people do not vote simply because it is a hassle or not readily available or accessible to them whether it be a vision loss or lack of transportation or whatever. And to me, providing more ways for all types of people to access voting would do more good than the negativity of the slim possibility of voter fraud. I think it is also honorable to argue the point that people should be proactive in making sure they cast a ballot even if it is inconvenient, but I think that that argument neglects groups of people who are still not properly represented. And I believe that the reason for this is because of a lack of information and accessibility rather than laziness.
