Oh trust me now a days Police are not stupid.  In fact in Brian's class at
the Academy he had the least college. In fact a couple of the Officers had
masters degrees.  They couldn't find work in there field and turned to a
parallel course being a Police Officer.  Brian was hired out of the Academy
for the Kirkland force.  In fact his whole classwas hired by different
places in WA.
