May I point you to the Krafters Korner a proud division of the National
Federation of the blind. These lovely blind people teach all kinds of
things over the phone and by email. I learned to my total shock how to make
beeded bracelets. Others have learned to crochet, knit, make soap, safety
pin beeding sow on a sewing machine etc. More advanced techniques are shown
also. I for example, am teaching starting Wednesday, how to cro-hook via
email. First classes are free, the email list is free, the Monday night
classes/chats are free, dues are ten dollars a year. With that ten dollars
you can take as many classes you wish a year.

Hi,
I had a home ec teacher in jr. high and high school who taught us to do hand
sewing but wouldn't allow the totally blind girls to use the machine. I
insisted on it, so she let me make an apron but then I had to donate it to
the school. So I never learned to sew back then and so far, haven't found
anyone to show me how. Bummer because I wanted to!
I'm glad my mom taught me to crochet. I just finished a project for my
daughter, Lynden, who is getting married next weekend!
Thanks
Lauren
