[nfbwatlk] FW: You be the judge of Amtrak'saccessibility track record

The trick is to get Congress to provide sufficient funds to allow increases
in service.

Note well, however, that this article -- however meritorious -- largely
focuses on *physical* access. And this goes to show why we don't often join
disability coalitions. For, paradoxically, AMTRAK has one of the best
automated ticketing services -- Julie -- and it's been around for years and
always *has* worked better than the majority of these services. And the
machines at AMTRAK stations where you can generate a ticket if you wish have
been accessible to the blind for many years. Put *that* in your airport
kiosk and smoke it!

Wow, that's crazy that you had to go to Portland to go to Pasco.
Wow! How strange is that! I really wish that Amtrak had better
schedules. I love to ride the train more than flying, but
leaving SPOKANE at 1 in the morning to go anywhere is pretty
awful. Peace, Debby
