Well put. I doubt if anybody sets out to have a getting lost adventure.
Thinking of getting lost as an adventure once I'm in the thick of things
just helps me feel better about the experience. Sometimes it's just one
little piece of information that makes the difference. I'm all for
informative gadgetry, except that I frequently find it difficult and
frustrating to use, inaccurate, or I just plain forget to take it with me.
I have a GPS system and I'm glad to have it, but remembering to take it
along when I'm going someplace new? Well, not always. Which reminds me,
I'd better stick it in my purse before we leave on that hour and a half
drive to meet with a legislator who's been put in charge of disability
issues for the province. I can't possibly get any more lost than the
province's thought patterns are. I'll let you all know when we make headway
in convincing British Columbia that blind people ought to have the right to
receive training.

I think it can be another tool, just like a compass. And for those of us
who are directionally challenged, this could be the difference between
getting out and staying home. And PLEASE, don't give me the line about more
training. I can often now get unlost by pausing and thinking about things,
like where is the traffic, and what's around me that should or shouldn't be,
but directions scramble in my head, and unlike many of you who think getting
lost is an adventure, I don't. Because of my time at CCB, I can do it
without as much fear, but it's still not on my bucket list. Let's see how
many times I can get lost today. I am not interested in wasting time being
lost. I want to get where I'm going, period. And I could care less about
what I might learn after being lost. I'll still have plenty of
opportunities to get lost, even if I get BlSquare. Lol. Debby
