Dear All Staff:

I wanted to inform you all that we have selected Julie Brannon for hire for the OTC Program Manager position that Keiko Namekata will be retiring from this December. 

 

Julie interviewed with two panels, presenting her vision of the OTC under her leadership, and both panels were equally impressed, satisfied and comfortable with envisioning Julie in the role. 

 

Julie's vision maintains and strengthens the vocational focus that has developed within the training center, and looks to challenge and sharpen students' learned skills. She has a vision for putting stronger emphasis on integrating skills learning among the various classes, and wants to develop more structured mechanisms for students to practice skills after class hours, develop peer mentorships, and integrate into the community. 

 

Julie is energetic, positive, and experienced, and she showed evidence that supports her self-description that she is a person who has the vision to offer new ideas as well as the follow through to implement them.  I am excited for her in this role.

 

She is scheduled to start September 15th, to coincide with the Intensive Workshop week, and she will be working alongside Keiko for transfer of knowledge until Keiko's retirement.  I will be requesting IT to set up a DSB email for her; please don't hesitate to welcome her closer to her start date.
