Lauren,

I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad; it's never easy to lose a parent, no
matter how old you or that parent is. Your Dad was a real gem! Both your
parents were sort of substitutes for my parents while I was in Nebraska. I
remember him showing me his lead typesetting letters. He was kind of quiet,
but a solid citizen in every way that counts. He's one of those people who
could honestly have an epitaph "He made the world a little better for those
around him and created a good and safe place for the people he loved."

Mary Ellen

Subject: [nfbwatlk] my Dad

Hi,

My dad had prostate cancer quite a number of years ago. With radiation
treatments, it went into remission. It came back with a vengeance a couple
months or so ago. After much stubbornness on the part of both of my parents,
they just moved on Monday to an assisted living facility with Dad receiving
hospice.

Dad passed on this morning. He was 91. He was a funny guy! I am worried
about Mom because she is very anxious and can be difficult at times. She may
elect to stay at the assisted living facility though I know she really would
like to go back home. I hope she can make some new friends there. I am kind
of up and down; okay sometimes, not others. I will be going back to NE in
the winter, which I said I'd never do again! I leave on the 3 of Jan. and
the memorial service will be on the 5 of Jan.

Thanks

Lauren

Blessings to you in the name of Jesus Christ
