Walgreens Update



As we hope you have all heard, Walgreens is now offering talking
prescription containers at all Walgreens and Duane Reade stores 
in the
United States, and through Walgreens mail-order.  Walgreens also 
offers large
print patient information sheets to all pharmacy customers with 
visual
impairments.  This historic access program is a result of 
Structured
Negotiations that the American Council of the Blind participated 
in along
with the California Council of the Blind and the Illinois Council 
of the
Blind.



We need your help to make sure this initiative goes smoothly.  If 
you are a
Walgreens pharmacy customer who is blind, please ask for your 
medications
with the talking label (called the Talking Pill Reminder) or 
request large
print patient information sheets.  The pharmacy staff will record
information about your prescription on the label and you'll be 
able to
listen at home by pressing a button on the device that will be 
attached to
the container.  You should be given an opportunity to listen to 
the
recording to make sure it is clear and understandable.  The 
device also has
an audible timer.
