Dear Mike and fellow list mates,
Thank you for your gracious response to the letter that I posted over the weekend, and for the many comments that followed. Through them, I gained a better understanding of the interpersonal context of your original note, and learned a lot more about the KNFB Reader and about the differing learning styles and approaches to technology that we share. The tone of all of these responses has left me with a deep appreciation of the many personalities that make up our movement, and with an abiding sense of community grounded in mutual caring and respect. I am very grateful for this, and very favorably impressed.
I want to apologize to for taking so long to reenter the dialogue. I am recovering from a serious injury suffered from a fall in early August, and still cope each day with a fair amount of pain and fatigue. The care I'm getting is excellent though, and the daily physical and occupational therapy I'm receiving here at home should have me back to normal in a few weeks.
Sadly, I won't be able to join you at the convention, or to enjoy your company and fellowship there. But please know that I'm with you in spirit, and proud to be one of you in the NFB of Washington.
