[nfbwatlk] OTC students at WCB conventions

Debby:
While I'd be tickled pink to have WSSB students attend the convention, its a bit more complicated than simply having the students show up: these days, all students go home each weekend. We'd therefore have to arrange for places for them to stay, not to mention getting permission from their parents if they are under eighteen and providing chaperones. We have had students at our conventions but they generally came with their parents. For instance, for several years, we had scavenger hunts around the hotel with kid's using their canes while parents met as at national conventions.
The Clark County chapter holds a social event for WSSB students each year. However, it is not an atmosphere conducive to organizing a student chapter. I'm all for luncheons but they must be paid for and we have been under somewhat of an imperative to keep things cheap!
Ideas are welcome.
