Agreed. The one question Asimov failed to answer was how building those laws
into positronic brains would be enforced and by whom. I'm not faulting him
for that omission; after all, he was just out to tell good stories. And they
are superb stories, might I add -- especially "Nightfall".
But lest we wax too ecstatic about the powers of SF writers, let us also
remember that one of the phenomena that seemingly (given human nature) would
have been obvious to predict -- but wasn't -- was spam. Isaac Asimov's
"Multivac" didn't have spam on it. (grin)

Asimov's laws of robotics will have to be built in from the beginning. I've
heard of industrial robots harming humans. They clearly lack positronic
brains. Apologies to anyone who hasn't read Asimov. Then again, why
haven't you read his books? You're missing one of the best literature
treats of a generation!

Of course. And it will probably not happen in my lifetime or yours. But
it's fun to think about, and to think about all the stuff the personal robot
could do. Of course, the flip side of this coin could also be the evil
stuff the personal robot could do. So everyone who received a personal
robot would have to have a rigorous course in Robotics. I predict it will
be one of the
most demanded courses at NFB training centers everywhere. Lol.
