Hi all:

I wanted to let you all know that the House budget came out on 
Friday and
did include the backfill for the $2.4 million shortfall in the 
Heritage
Account for the State Library, and the backfill was funded by a 
$1 increase
in the recording fee.



This is good news, but the Senate budget must agree before it 
would become a
reality.  The Secretary of state's office anticipates that the 
Senate budget
will come out sometime this next week, and expects the backfill 
will also be
in that budget, but most likely will come from a general fund 
appropriation
instead of a fee increase.



I'll let you know more as I hear more.
