Anne Malone is a blind woman who lived in Newfoundland until very recently. That’s a fairly isolating place to be. Listen to her TEDX talk. Much of what she has to say philosophically sounds very much as if it came from the NFB. Not surprising, since she credits the Federation with her basic understanding of blindness. Her description of how it is in Canada is bang on! She’s never met any of us, just telephone conversations and significant reading. This video may be one of the most positive public pieces to have come out of Canada in quite a long time.

Hi Mary Ellen!
FINALLY! My TEDX Talk has been uploaded ...I hope you enjoy it.
I am not thrilled with the title, which was assigned to the piece by the folks at TED.
There were a lot of things I would have liked to expand upon, but was limited by the 15 minute RED format.
The video has received 250+ views and counting. It is all seed - opportunities to germinate new discourse and ways of thinking about blindness, and the vast potential that is resident in all of us, regardless of how we experience the world.
Cheers,
Anne
