Subject: SHARE YOUR FEEDBACK -- LOCAL WORKFORCE PLANS

Hi All: The 12 Workforce Development Councils (WDC) across the state have drafted new Local Workforce Plans that reflect all the changes and new requirements of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. A major focus of these new plans is aimed at better serving individuals who experience significant barriers to employment - particularly individuals with disabilities. Each plan also includes details about how DVR services and our customers will be integrated in to the local workforce system.

All of the local plans are available for public comment until May 31. If you wish to review the draft plan for your locale, here is a link where you can download a copy and learn how to share feedback with your local WDC: http://www.wtb.wa.gov/LocalWorkforcePlans.asp

DVR representatives on each WDC have been actively involved in drafting local plans to assure the needs of DVR customers and other individuals with disabilities are well addressed. If you have questions, concerns or suggestions for how your local workforce system can best serve DVR customers, please let the DVR representative on your local WDC know. A list of DVR's representatives on the WDCs is attached.

Finally, attached is a copy of the shared vision, values and principles of collaboration that DVR and the Washington Workforce Association (made-up of the 12 local WDC Executive Directors) have jointly developed. These principles lay a foundation for the partnership and integration of service delivery that DVR and all of the local WDCs intend to carry out to improve the workforce systems responsiveness and inclusion of individuals with disabilities.

If you have views on how your local workforce system can better serve individuals with disabilities, please share your feedback. Thanks! -don
