Below is information about the hours and locations for accessible voting units in King County. The extension of after work hours (such as they are) only occurred after I complained to Julie Wise, the County Elections Director. It’s great to have a downtown Seattle location available for early voting, but the options for working folks are very limited. Ms. Wise cited low use as her reason for eliminating the weekend hours at Union Station. I informed her that, for some working people or students, Saturday might be the only time when they can get to a voting center. For East county residents who don't have reason to travel to Seattle there is only a 4 hour window of time today (Halloween) at the Bellevue Library with no time on Election Day.

There is also a special recall election in December in Black Diamond. Dates and times for using accessible voting machines for that election are listed below the first list. The only time to actually vote in Black Diamond is a 4 hour time period on November 30 and no hours on Election Day, December 5.

in one of her emails Julie Wise stated that anyone who is not able to make it to one of the locations could contact her office. I am enclosing her contact information at the bottom of this emil. I would encourage you to contact her with any concerns you may have with these dates and times. She is an elected official and has made her contact information available on public documents in the past. I am currently in communication with the King County Executive and County Council because of this and because of the way these decisions were made. We may want to take further action so stay tuned.
