Microsoft would like to invite you to an employment symposium focused on challenging the status quo and reinventing the future of disability employment.

The unemployment rate for people with disabilities is twice that of the US national average. That number has not materially changed in the last 30 years and we have the power to change it. The Microsoft disAbility Employment Symposium will bring together a distinguished group of Puget Sound-area businesses, organizations, and leaders for transparent conversations on the benefits, challenges, and potential solutions regarding disability employment.

Objectives:

  *   Explore local and national disability inclusion practices that drive success across the entire company
  *   Cultivate thought leadership and innovative solutions on topics such as candidate pipeline, recruitment, interviewing, accommodations, onboarding, benefits, retention, and career development of people with disabilities
  *   Stimulate discussion and interaction among local employers, agencies, and NGOs focused on positively impacting the unemployment and underemployment of people with disabilities

The agenda features keynote speakers, a moderated panel discussion, and breakout workshops where participants have an opportunity to dive into deep discussions on particular issues.

The Symposium will precede a Microsoft-sponsored Inclusive Hiring Virtual Career Fair for People with Disabilities.
