If you've always wanted to visit that other Vancouver, the first weekend in
May, 2019 may be your best opportunity yet!
The Canadian Federation of the Blind will be holding its annual convention
at the Hilton in Burnaby, British Columbia, May 3-5, 2019. Burnaby is in
the Greater Vancouver area and the hotel is located very close to a Sky
Train station. In other words, anyone arriving via rail, bus, or air can
easily reach the headquarters hotel using public transportation. Taxis are
also readily available.
The convention theme is employment. The convention organizing committee is
working hard to put together thought provoking program items relevant to
Federationists on either side of the border. Although governments differ,
blindness philosophy knows no borders.
Convention registration is $75, which includes the Friday evening reception,
Saturday luncheon, and Saturday evening banquet. Hotel rooms are $209 plus
tax per night, which includes breakfast. Our block of rooms will be
available to reserve until April 30.
Watch this list for more details. Feel free to send questions to
info at cfb.ca.
We would love to have a group of energetic Washington State Federationists
on hand in Burnaby next May.
