Dear Marci,

Thanks for doing this. I just have one quick question. What timezone will this meeting be in? Will it be in our local WA time? I ask as you have mentioned the 7:30 PM time and just want to be sure.

Also, can Blind schoolchildren / parents join in on this? Just trying to be resourceful with my students. Thanks!

In order to give us a little more time to prepare for a general meeting open to the blind community we are canceling tonight‘s meeting and rescheduling it for this Sunday, March 29, at 7:30 PM. *The original meeting for tonight has been canceled and you will not be able to use those credentials.*

We will send out new information for the Sunday night call closer to the time of that meeting. We want to gather some information before that so that we are able to assist blind people who may be having a difficult time during this pandemic and who may face barriers in accessing local services.

I hope you are all doing OK. I know this is a stressful time for all of us. President Riccobono has asked us to take some time while we are all mostly at home to check in with each other and to reach out to members and other blind people. I know that some of us are doing this at an informal level but I would like to make it a little more organized. As blind people we face some extra challenges right now and some are able to find resources while others are having a difficult time.

If you are receiving this email I am inviting you to a zoom conference call tomorrow night (Thursday). There are two purposes for this call. First, we can check in with each other and offer any support needed. Second, we can talk about and set up ways to reach out to our members and other blind people to help them connect with local resources. Information for joining the call is included below my signature. I anticipate this call will last about one hour.
