I agree with you, easier said than done, I'm sure, but you've got to start somewhere.

Hello, Judy.
Thanks for your update. I think this is encouraging news. Hopefully they're getting involved and collaborating. Maybe this will be the time that we raise that percentage of employed Blind people. From 30% to 40%, that would be a super great starting point, and maybe the lighthouses and companies will start seeing the potential of the those Blind folks, and will retain them. Yes, optimistic thinking. I know this doesn't sound as realistic a thing but hey, to use that old cliche again... expect the worse, , but hope for the best. That's how I operate in these times of challenge.

Hi, All,
Sorry for the long subject, but wanted it to stand out, in light of
tonight's call.
I found this to be very timely, with so many blind people under-employed,
the need to be employed since the National Defense Production Act has been
invoked. In a perfect world, the NFB could spearhead the movement to get
company CEOs on board to get blind people to working.
General Motors is producing ventilators, and many distilleries are now
producing hand sanitizer.
About eight minutes fifty seconds into the link below, you will find an
interview with Whitehouse National Trade Advisor Peter Navarro, who really
lays it out. He also suggests that companies wanting to get on board
contact the Whitehouse, and they can be plugged into the National Council Of
Textile Organizations, who can help them expand and repurpose for the
duration.
