Thanks, Bennett,
Convention was fun. I learned a lot, as always. Having Washingtonians there reminded me of the strength of our bonds. Fun fact. We had visitors from Ireland and Kenya.

Hey Washington NFB Family,
I want us all to know that our Canadian neighbors have an energetic and lively group and they had a great convention. While I couldn’t be there for a lot of it, the time I spent at the banquet and at the AGM meeting, (which I discovered meant their annual general meeting), was not only interesting, but everyone was very engaged in the work that needs to be done for all Canadian blind people. President Mary Ellen, I enjoyed your banquet presentation, which was nicely followed up by the NFB representative’s message from Scott LaBarre. Everyone attending the meetings seemed to have a lot to say, and to have fun as well. Thanks for inviting us, and hope to be with you next year, as you said, “next year in Vancouver.”

Thanks, Marci. To use a very old turn of phrase, "The joint is jumping!" Come join us, especially tomorrow. Today is an exhibitor day, so feel free to drop in. Right now we're discussing the Canada Disability registered plan; that has to do with a tax free savings account for people with disabilities. It's interesting in that Canada is the only country that has done something like an IRA for people with disabilities.
After lunch we'll hear from the Canadian library system, quite different from NLS, but exciting in that public libraries provide service directly to blind people here.
We have attendees from Ireland and Kenya right now, so Washingtonians, you're most welcome!
