Hi listers. Remember Kris Colcock sent out an announcement about the fundraiser that will benefit the Members At Large Chapter of the NFB of Washington. Her personal email being sent to whomever she wants is below. The quilts that were donated by chad Lewis’s partner, charity Layton are extremely well made and are a great way to give yourself or someone else a great Christmas or other holiday gift. They are definitely worth many hundreds of dollars each. Please donate to this excellent fundraiser, and for each $5 donated you’ll get your name in the drawings for both quilts. Please pass this information along to friends and relatives, and other groups you are in. This is an exciting time year, and the At Large Chapter is lucky to be able to have this opportunity for you. As Kris says in her email, the donation may be made through your Pay Pal account by sending to Payments at NFBW.org, or sending a check or money order to PO Box 2516 Seattle, WA 98111. For each donation of $5, you will have the name entered into the drawing. So, if you donate $20 you’ll get four chances at the quilts. Kris’s email gives the information too, so enjoy the reading.
On behalf of all of us in the NFB, enjoy a very happy Thanksgiving too! 😊

Subject: NFB of WA Membrs at Large Chapter Quilt Fundraiser
Hello Family and Friends,
As many of you know, I am a member of the National Federation of the
Blind of Washington which is the state affiliate to the nationwide
organization the National Federation of the Blind. This consumer
organization is very important to me as we work together to ensure
blind Washingtonians can live the life we want. We do this through
community outreach, educational efforts for adults and children,
mentoring individuals during career exploration as well as
transitioning to life as a blind individual and advocacy on all
levels. We feel that it is important to have equal access to everyday
life activities such as voting, shopping, surfing the net, education
and self managing our health care and medications. These are just a
few issues that are important to me and other blind Washingtonians.
That is why I belong to the National Federation of the Blind of
Washington's Members at Large Chapter.
Like many organizations, it takes money and volunteers to work with
our state and national legislators, offer outreach to individuals and
provide educational opportunities to those learning about blindness,
careers and alternative techniques. This year we are asking for
monetary donations to the NFBW Members at Large Chapter so we may
continue this important work. As a show of our appreciation, we are
offering an opportunity to receive one of two quilts as a Thank You!
The images are attached so you can see the beauty and quality that
Charity Layton has put into each hand crafted quilt. So, here is how
you can help other blind Washingtonians and possibly receive one of
these beautiful hand crafted quilts.
Easiest way to donate:
1. Send a donation of $5 or more to Payments at nfbw.org by December 7th,
2021. Please ensure that your contact information and a note
explaining that this is for the MAL Donation Drive is included. For
every $5 donation, your name will be placed into the quilting basket
(i.e. give $20 and your name goes in 4 times). On December 9, 2021 we
will draw a name out of the basket for each quilt. While we would love
to have you join us at our meeting, you do not have to be present to
win.
2. Send a check or money order payable to NFBW so that it arrives by
December 7th. Please mail this check or money order to NFBW, PO Box
2516, Seattle, WA 98111. Please make sure when you mail your check or
money order you include your contact information so we can let you
know the results. Also, please be sure to put in a note that this is
for the NFBW MAL Donation Drive. We will draw names on December 9th at
our Members at Large Monthly meeting. While we would love to have you
there, you do not have to be present to win.
As stated above, each of these quilts were hand crafted by Charity
Layton, the fiance of Chad Lewis, our chapter Treasurer. Here are more
