We would like to formally invite you to the 2025 National Federation of the
Blind (NFB) of Washington state Convention: Live the Life You Want. This
exciting event will be held February 27-March 2 at the Heathman Lodge in
Vancouver WA. We have an array of exciting events planned which include a
karaoke night, jam session, audio described movie, accessible sports, escape
room, our annual job seeker seminar, gatherings for both parents and
students, and other thrilling opportunities. Learn about legislative
priorities, advocacy efforts, innovative technology, find new resources, and
learn about the NFB of Washington at this annual gathering. In addition, we
will be awarding 3 $3000 scholarships Saturday evening at our banquet.
Please find attached the convention agenda in English and Spanish, if you
have not already, please get registered. Come meet new friends, reunite with
old friends, and learn to live the life you want. 

 

Convention agenda: Please find the convention agenda attached to this email
in a word document format in English and Spanish.

 

Convention Registration: all participants must be registered by February 14,
2025. The registration fee is $30 and there is a choice of 4 different meal
packages: no meals, banquet only, all Saturday meals, or Friday lunch and
all Saturday meals. In order to receive meals at convention, you must
register an pay by this deadline.

Educators: Are you an educator of blind/low vision students? The National
Federation of the Blind of Washington is pleased to be partnering with our
platinum convention sponsor, The Northwest Center for Assistive Technology
Training (CATT-NW) to bring you a valuable workshop on TADA. This event is
free and will be held February 28, 2025, 9:00am-4:00pm in person at the
Heathman Lodge in Vancouver, WA. TADA! offers 10 free online activities for
anyone to use with a student of any age/ability who would like to learn
nonvisual drawing skills, spatial concepts related to coding, and how to
create computer graphics. This full-day session will take you on a hands-on
tour of this modern day adventure map and provide a deep dive on how to
design and produce tactile graphics. This session will be offering
Washington state clock hours, as well as ACVREP hours. CATT NW will also be
hosting a breakout session on Saturday March 1 titled Unlocking Multimedia
Accessibility with OCR and Visual Interpreter Apps with clock hours and
