Hello NFB of WV list,
A couple of nice accessibility announcements have been made recently,
due in no small part to advocacy and consulting work by both my AFB TECH
lab and the NFB.

First, Apple has just announced that the small and affordable iPod
Shuffle, the smallest digital audio player on the market, now has
Apple's VoiceOver functionality, and will speak your song names and play
lists. this adds the Shuffle to the iPod Nano as another accessible
Apple iPod product.

Second, Verizon Wireless has announced that they are now offering the
Motorola Moto Q CM with a screen reader they are calling TALKS FOR
VERIZON WIRELESS, joining AT&T as the only US mobile phone service
providers to offer such a product. The price will be $249 if you sign
up for a 2-year agreement. Apart from this deal, The Moto Q CM is $149
with a 2-year agreement without TALKS, and TALKS is $295 from the
manufacturer, so it works out that Verizon is basically giving us a $195
discound for TALKS.
