I sent out all  of the press releases to television stations and the Gazette
and Herald-Dispatch

.  I'm hopeful that someone will run the release and perhaps some newspaper
will come to the hotel.  We need all media coverage we can get. As soon as I
interview the scholarship recipient who is from Beckley I'm going to get a
release written for her local newspaper.  I'm also having someone take her
picture.  Call me if there is anything else you want me to do.

As many of you know, our colleague, Dr. C. Edwin Vaughan, is scheduled to 
participate in the upcoming convention of the National Federation of the 
Blind of West Virginia.  A West Virginia native who has had an outstanding 
career in academia, Dr. Vaughan is scheduled to take part in our Agency 
Partnership meeting on Friday, September 11.  He will also address the 
convention assembly on Saturday afternoon.

Yesterday he did an interview with Beth Vorhees of WV Public Radio, and 
according to Beth, the story will air on either the Thursday (September 10) 
or Friday (September 11) edition of "West Virginia Morning."  "West Virginia

Morning" airs Monday through Friday at 7:30 AM on the statewide WV Public 
Radio Network.  I suppose the day will be determined by the other breaking 
stories it must compete with.

Dr. Vaughan is also scheduled to be interviewed Friday morning on MetroNews 
"TalkLine," shortly after 11:00 AM.  "TalkLine" is heard on MetroNews radio 
network affiliates throughout the state Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM 
to noon.

We're still working on Getting newspaper stories.
