Dear Affiliate Presidents,
Please see the below message from our education team here at the NFB
Jernigan Institute.
-----------------
Esteemed Federationists,
As we all get our fingers warmed up for the time of year where we stress
the importance of Braille literacy even more-if that's possible-than we
do the rest of the year, I wanted to offer my support of the work you do
on the local level. If you are planning a Braille Readers Are Leaders
kick-off or wrap-up party and would like ideas of things to do with the
students, I'd be happy to brainstorm with you. If you or members in your
affiliate have questions about how the contest works for students or
adults please send those my way. Additionally, if you plan to host a
wrap-up event where you present prizes from the Braille Readers Are
Leaders Contest to students in person, please let us know. To ensure the
children's prizes get to the correct person, we will need to know which
students you expect to attend your wrap-up event and where we should
send the prizes. It would be most helpful if we could have this
information by January 21, 2011. Thank you for all the work you do to
support the Braille Readers Are Leaders Contest in your state!
I hope to see many of you participating in the adult Braille Readers Are
Leaders Contest!
Warmest regards,
Natalie Shaheen
