Joyce, I started taking a Vitamin C with my prescription strength iron
at breakfast and at dinner. Now that my hemoglobin is staying pretty
normal, I just take a multi vitamin with iron and an extra vitamin C
with breakfast and a vitamin C with dinner.

Yes, they are still low. I start treatments Wednesday. I sleep well at
night and I go to bed kind of early. I'm determined to beat this thing.
What did yu do to correct your problem?
When I went into the hospital my hemoglobin was 6.1. I'll find out
Wednesdy
what it is now. I had six units of blood when I was in the hospital and
we
got itup to nine.

Joyce, is your iron/hemoglobin levels still low? If they are, I don't
know
how you are functioning. When mine were down around 6, I slept almost
all
of the time and I was very cold. Also, my entire body hurt, even my
fingers
and toes. I honestly thought I was going to have to quit working. It
took
them a long time to find out what was wrong with me and they sent me to
all
kinds of doctors. I wasn't getting any better until I looked up low
iron on
the internet and learned that Vitamin C helps with the absorption of
iron.
I started taking one Vitamin C every morning and every evening when I
took
my iron with breakfast and dinner and I got better. Let me know if you
are
having similar symptoms.

I'm starting treatments for platelets on Wednesday. I feel pretty good
although my sister says I look very pale. I feel pretty good but wish I
could get out. Since my white cells are low I have to stay away from
large
crowds. I hope these treatments will raise my platelets. Thanks for
asking.
