Greetings Fellow Federationist,

As the E-mail below outlines, all affiliates are to be contacted to
ascertain their level of interest in regards to a Deaf-Blind Division.
In order to assist with what is being requested, please submit to me the
names of all members who have deaf-blind issues. I feel that the word
"deaf" here means hearing impairment. I already know of a handful of us
who meet this criteria. So that I don't overlook anyone as well as may
not be aware of everyone with these issues, please submit their names as
soon as possible as I am to be contacted regarding this in a week.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Charlene

Is it really four weeks since Convention in Orlando? Hard to believe,
but it is.

Since returning, we have been hard at work putting together a plan to
move

Deaf-Blind projects forward. In the next year, prior to the 2014
Convention,

the Deaf-Blind Division is setting out to:

1 Identify more people with deaf-blind issues

2. Ensure all eligible people are aware of and have applied

for equipment under the iCanConnect program.

3. At all times, respect privacy

4. Help people with deaf-blind concerns communicate with

     each other.

5. Encourage membership in the N.F.B.

6. If so indicated, encourage a deaf-blind committee in each

     state.

7. Ensure interested deaf-blind citizens understand the resources

available to them. They may need guidance in working with the

agencies responsible to provide their services.

First We need your approval of this effort

Second We would appreciate names/ddresses/e-mail addresses

so we can make contact to determine the level of

interest on the part of each deaf-blind individual

We want to keep it simple

As we build this project, we have been fortunate to secure the volunteer

services of our Deaf-Blind Division Past President and Current Treasurer

to work on the project in each of your five states.

Please meet and work with:

Ms. Burnell Brown

    Apartment #303

Washington, D.C. 20018

    Home: 202 832 0697

Burnell will be contacting you in the next week or 10 days to determine
your

interest and plan what would be the best approach in each of your
states.

We want to move slowly and professionally. It is understood some people

will be very interested and others not.

Perhaps, two exciting results will occur...your blind members and
citizens with

hearing loss will make new friends and gain knowledge of
equipment/services

available...It's all about empowerment.

I hope you share our excitement. We look to you for support of the
deaf-blind

community in each of your states. Please feel free to call or e-mail me
with

any questions or concerns

Ms. Burnell Brown will be contacting you soon.

Thank you.
