I am forwarding the following email that National NAPUB President 
Sandy Halverson sent to the NAPUB discussion list.  This should 
clear up the Braille Readers Are Leaders question expressed at 
our NFBWV NAPUB meeting.

I have learned that we will not be conducting the adult Braille 
Readers Are Leaders contest this year.  We are not abandoning 
Braille or our interest in literacy but are focusing on working 
with affiliates to establish BELL programs to give literacy to 
more blind kids and we continue making free Braille books 
available to blind kids.

We will discuss this contest at our 2014 NAPUB meeting during our 
next national convention.  If your state affiliate decides to 
conduct such an adult contest, please share your contest 
expertise on the NAPUB list.
