Esteemed Federationists:
In our efforts to continue to build the Federation and ensure the blind children across the country have access to fun high-quality Braille instruction, every year we look to bring the NFB BELL program to new states. There are a number of affiliates who have been in touch over the last year to express their interest in hosting an NFB BELL program in 2015. In order to be considered to host an NFB BELL program in the summer of 2015, prospective affiliates must submit an application. Applications are available online<https://nfb.org/bell-program-online-application> for interested states to complete. Applications must be submitted no later than *September 30, 2014*..
Before completing the application, you may find it helpful to attend one of two informational conference calls. The calls will be held on
August 11 at 8 PM Eastern, and
August 28 at 9 PM Eastern
Call-in Number: 877-394-5901
Access Code: 4720035
To help with your planning, the 2015 NFB BELL Program Timeline is attached to this email. A copy of the NFB BELL Program Affiliate Guidelines is attached here as well. Please review these documents prior to completing the application. If you have any questions or if you would like more information, please send me an email at nshaheen at nfb.org<mailto:nshaheen at nfb.org>.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
