Subject: [Nfbwv-talk] A note about list usage

All,

Over the course of the last few days (and, to a somewhat lesser extent, over
a great period of time) I have noticed quite a few messages going out that
entire list - a medium that is visible by not just us, mind you, but anyone
that can find it on the web) that appear to be directed mainly toward one
person. While this is a discussion list and it is naturally appropriate to
discuss many topics back and forth, with one another and address one's
questions or points, bear in mind the message you are sending is not just
visible to that person but to many. There are times when it would be more
appropriate to reply only to that person with specific information or
queries. Please be mindful of this.

In addition, as is always advisable with any form of Internet communication,
be mindful of what you say. It is not always a good idea to say the first
thing that "comes off the top of your head", so to speak. These may not be
comments we may not always want everyone to see or read.

I bring this to your attention so we can all be mindful of how we can
present ourselves to each other and our Federation community across the land
with our best foot forward, as well as to protect our organization and,
moreover, each of you from any unwanted reactions.

Thank you in advance for your upmost diligence to this matter.
