[Nfbwv-talk] Gathering reports of parenting issues related to blindness

Federation Colleagues:

I know we're all in the build up to the holiday's, and I hope that it is 
an enjoyable season for everyone.

Recently I was asked to begin to plan for West Virginia to adopt a model 
parenting rights bill. The first part of the legislation includes 
several important findings. These outline the various kinds of 
discrimination we face as blind parents, care takers and foster care givers.

I am asking that if you have direct, personal experience with this kind 
of situation that you communicate with me directly and privately. We 
need to be able to speak to our experiences in WV.

I do recognize the potentially painful and difficult choice to discuss 
such a situation publicly. I am not necessarily asking for anyone to do 
this at this time. Rather I'm looking for specifics which can help us 
frame the issue for Legislators.
