Greetings all,
I figured it was time to update everyone on things since some of you
don't have fb etc.
We got our co-signer for Nicolai's immigration. We are about halfway
through the paperwork that needs to be submitted to apply for his LPR or
green card as most of you know it by.
We still have no answers about my pain, but I'm on Lyrica now which
makes a huge difference. I'm going in a few weeks to one of my other
doctors to have some more tests ran to be sure it's not something rare
that can cause backpain.
My semester starts back on the 17th, so I've been preparing for that,
and helping a fellow friend who is also blind get ready. Some of you may
know Keisha Smith, she is coming to CU. I peer tutored her in high
school, so I'm excited she is coming to CU.
I've applied for my first on campus job. I've applied to be a peer
mentor, so I'm excited for that. I've not worked since I was in high
school, so having another job would be great. If I don't get the job
that's ok, because I still have my community service I do.
I'm working with Concord's library director Connie Shumate to make the
library more accessible. We are going to be partnering with NLS to get a
rotating library, and in the future we hope to start building a braille
collection if we can find space to do so. I'll let you all know how it
goes, since I'll be working on it this fall. We are really hoping to get
more of the blind and VI community in Mercer County to visit the library
at CU since it is public!
thanks all,
