Subject: [Nfbwv-talk] Joe scheduled for a procedure to releave his pain
Federation Family:
Next Tuesday Joe will undergo an out patient procedure at Allegheny
General Hospital. The purpose is to deposit some glysseran-based
medication at the point where the fifth cranial nerve enters the scull.
The objective is to insulate the nerve from the neighboring blood vessel
which is responsible for his Transgeminal Neuralgia.
Although it isn't something to be taken litely, the procedure has a very
low risk factor. There is no general anesthesia, rather Joe will be in
what the nurses call a "happy place."
We will travel to Pittsburgh Monday afternoon, and plan to come back to
Huntington on Wednesday. A friend will provide on-site logistical
support with driving us from the hotel on Tuesday and back to our hotel.
I'll plan to update here on Tuesday after what will be, I'm sure, a very
successful outcome.
In Federationism,
Brad
