Hi Karen!
I originally thought I might try drafting it, but was afraid to start,
knowing that Mr. Whereas would do a superior job to mine any day.
Thanks for the support.
We couldn't ask for a better teacher; That's for certain!
Cheers,
Dave

I think you have a good idea. I'll share this with Mr. Whereas since he's
the resolutions guru in the state.

Subject: [Nfbwv-talk] Appreciation for Terry Mathenny
Hi all!
Have had a brain glitch lately. That is a bit embarrassing for me, but
guess you olrder folks are more used to it so you'll understand. I couldn't
remember my WV1A number, so I got myself awake this morning before the
library closed yesterday and called to get a brain reboot.
These kinds of things almost always will lead me to Terry Mathenny, pardon
if I may be spelling her sirname incorrectly.
Anyway, we had a nice little chat, and she straightened out my number, so
all should be fine now in my brain department.
Terry asked what I was going to do when she retired. I told her that better
just never happen, because I don't think that would be any good for my
sanity. She said she definitely was planning to retire around the end of
this year.
Knowing that Terry is a state employee, I didn't want to ask for more
specifics, so I can't be sure if she meant the fiscal year or the calendar
year. I hope neither, but I guess retirement is something we all go
through.
I feel as if Terry has been part of the library since perhaps the world
started turning, because I know she's been there at least as long as I
started ordering books by myself. From memory, I think I was ten, just so
yall can get the picture.
Anyway, it occurred to me that her longevity and remarkable service to us
might be a worthy topic for a resolution at the state convention this year.
Regardless of that, I thought it was news worth sharing here.
Cheers,
Dave
