I just wanted to share Joyce's obituary with you.
JOYCE MAE SHY PORTER is now in the presence of the . JOYCE MAE SHY

the presence of the Lord. Joyce passed away on March 24, 2018, at the
Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House due to multiple medical complications.
She passed peacefully while surrounded by family. Joyce was a 1958 graduate
of the West Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind in Romney, West
Virginia, and attended Marshall University. Joyce loved to sing in the
choir at the Milton United Methodist Church. She also served on many
committees and was very active in the church. Joyce enjoyed helping others
and was a lifelong member of the National Federation of the Blind. Joyce
was predeceased by her husband, Richard Porter; parents, Cecil and Izella
Shy; son, Michael DeWeese; brother, George Benny Shy; and sister, Betsy
Lynn Rienersman. Joyce is survived by her children, Ronald Shy and his wife
Nichole Kidd, and daughter, Julie Moore. Grandchildren are Aubrey, Annie
and Gracie Shy; Michael, Dominik, Nichole and Deon Moore. Sisters are
Martha Plumley, Barbara Ann Shy and her husband Roland Payne, and
sister-in-law, Theresa Shy. Nephews and nieces are Kris and Karen Rogers,
Greg Plumley, James Shy and Stephan Shy, Ken and Tiffany Strope, and Tisha
Herne. Joyce loved and also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren and
great-nephews, -nieces. A memorial service will be held 12:30 p.m. on April
14, 2018, at Milton Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, please make
donations in honor of Joyce Porter to the National Federation of the Blind
of West Virginia or to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington,
West Virginia.
