> In just two short months we will be holding our 2019 state convention of the National Federation of the Blind of West Virginia, and you know what that means! It’s time for our only major statewide fundraiser which is our auction. Our expenses over the year have been many and our income has been minimal so we really need to make our auction a productive one.

> But you all know, it’s not just about the dollars and cents, it’s about the fun and unity. So what do I need to do you might ask? Well there are several ways you can bring in auction-worthy items. Consider visiting your favorite retailers, especially those mom and pop establishments. Visit your favorite restaurant chain for a possible gift card donation. Look in your closets and cupboards to uncover those lovely unwanted items that are in good condition. Get the candy pan and cookie sheets out for your best delectable goodies. If you don’t like to solicit items, don’t have any treasures in your home, don’t bake, then how about considering making a purchase or two from your favorite retailer. I have done this over the past years and it’s always lots of fun to see if I made the right choices on which people will want to bid.

> In advance, thank you to all of you for your efforts to make this year’s auction the best ever! In advance, thanks to your auctioneers Ricky Richmond and Trish Walker to will make this thing come off without a hitch. We are going to have a blast!
