Dear Chapter Members & Friends,

The Members at Large Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of West Virginia will meet via Zoom tomorrow, August 8, at 7:00 PM. See Zoom information below. Attached for your review is a slightly revised copy of the minutes for the July 11 chapter meeting.

I am pleased to announce that our guest speaker will be Donna Posont, a recipient of a 2024 Jacob Bolotin Award, presented during this year's NFB National Convention in Orlando. Donna was recognized for her creation of Birding by Ear and Beyond, a program at the University of Michigan Dearborn, that gives blind persons a first-hand experience of the natural world and an opportunity to build independence and self-confidence. Donna is a West Virginia native, long-time Federationist, and sister of chapter member Marla Sewell. 

Invite a friend and join us to extend congratulations to Donna and to learn more about the work she is doing.

Chapter business on this month's agenda includes Family Matters, a review of July meeting minutes, a financial report, an update on our quilt raffle fund-raising project, and a summary of highlights from the recent meeting of the affiliate board of directors.

I look forward to an interesting and inspiring meeting tomorrow evening.
