October is here, and that means the third annual Blind Community Unity Day is just over two weeks away. Most NFBWV members are already aware of the event as part of our upcoming state convention; however, we need to spread the word far and wide to anyone beyond the organization who might benefit from attending.

An "official" announcement of the event has been submitted to the Morgantown Convention and Visitors Bureau, but beyond that, I am not sure how widely the message has been distributed. Therefore, I am attaching it as a Word document and including it below in this message. Please share with anyone you believe might be interested.

At a time when unity and strength are more important than ever, Blind Community Unity Day promises to be an exciting and energizing occasion for the entire blind community in West Virginia. Plan to be part of the gathering as we celebrate Blind Equality Achievement Month.

The National Federation of the Blind is the transformative membership and advocacy organization of blind people. Through a network of blind members, the Federation coordinates many programs, services, and resources to defend the rights of blind Americans, provide information and support to blind children and adults, and build a community that creates a future full of opportunities. Federationists believe in blind people because they are blind people-from their democratically elected leaders to their diverse statewide and nationwide membership.
