Kelly, Isaac, and all,

I’ve been asked to give a keynote address to the Keene State College Orientation program on August 25. This is my fifthyear working with all incoming students.  It has allowed me to begin working with their support programs for students who are blind or visually impaired.

I also wanted to commit to attending the August 20 affiliate meeting. It’s been difficult for meto get free on a Saturday late morning but I’m making this next one a priority to begin growing the connection I hope to have with all of you.

It’s great to meet you! 

Sorry, I’ve missed the last meeting (or two) due to personal family emergency. However,  I’ve been looking forward to meeting you. Welcome to our group of really wonderful people! 😊

I know finding a support system takes time and can feel daunting at times, like “no-one get it”! 

But hang in there. You are in the right place, with people who really understand a vision  loss/vision impairment journey! 

Although this is a civil rights activist group, there is plenty of room for personal connections and sharing resources.

As for me, My vision loss started two years ago and this group has not only been supportive but it also has opened so many doors for me. I’m able to thrive in my life now with vision loss!

I would really like to set up a time to meet with you. So, I was thinking my son starts college at Keene State college in August and I hear you’re a student there. 

How does that sound? We could have coffee on the quad or something.

Zoom has changed in the last couple of years. It now requires either a passcode for dial-in or everyone has to go to a waiting room and be admitted. 

We have decided to make things easier and go with the waiting room. 

This means you will have to be admitted by the host.
