Dear Affiliate Presidents and Legislative Directors:
We are thrilled to report that interest in getting back to an in-person
Washington Seminar has been so great that our hotel block had to be
expanded twice, and has been extended to Saturday, December 31. So if you
have not made your reservation yet, please do so quickly as several of the
individual nights are almost full.
We will be conducting four virtual training sessions for the upcoming
Washington Seminar. The date and objective for each training session is
outlined below. Note that the first two training sessions are for specific
audiences while everyone is urged to attend the general issues training and
mock meetings.
Washington Seminar 101
Tuesday, January 3, 8:00 p.m. ET
This is a special training for new affiliate presidents and legislative
directors. If this will be your first in-person Washington Seminar or if
you would like a refresher training on the basics of Washington Seminar,
then this training is for you.
Washington Seminar Portal
Tuesday, January 10, 8:00 p.m. ET
Each affiliate should have one to three folks who will enter appointments
and rankings into our Washington Seminar Portal. It is these people who are
urged to attend this training. We will review portal operations including a
couple of new features which are available this year. These folks should
already have a portal login. If not, then affiliate presidents should email
Kyle at kwalls at nfb.org and Kyle will get them the appropriate credentials.
Issues Training
Thursday, January 12, 8:00 p.m. ET
This training is for all affiliate presidents, legislative directors, and
group leaders. We will review each of the three issues in detail including
frequently asked questions.
Mock meetings
Wednesday, January 18, 8:00 p.m. ET
This training is for all affiliate presidents, legislative directors, and
group leaders. We will conduct two mock meetings so that members can learn
how to present our issues including problem definition, legislative
highlights, and frequently asked questions.
The Zoom information for all four calls will be the same and is included
below. Please pass this invitation on to others in your affiliate who might
benefit from this training.
