[NHLakesChapter] [Nh-board] NHNFB Voice On The Hill First Episode Preview

I spoke this afternoon with Justin Young, the Governmental Affairs Specialist for the National Federation of the Blind concerning this video presentation which you propose to put out on Facebook.

I was advised that (1) all video presentations on any social media platform concerning the NFB in New Hampshire or the Washington Seminar must always be viewed and approved by the State President before release, (2) no political items are to be discussed on social media before or during Washington Seminar week, and (3) I am to consult with the NFB Communications Specialist to avoid conflict with the public communications they are issuing.

Item (2) above may be interpreted as refraining from referencing any specific member of Congress, their statements or positions, or making any statement that can be misconstrued or misinterpreted and cause unintended harm.

I must ask, therefore, that pending my getting guidance from Baltimore you refrain from posting this video.

That being said, I liked the video. I would gladly see it online. I think it speaks positively to us and about us.

I will present this video to Baltimore as something that does not, in my view, conflict with the directions I have received.

I hope to be back soon with word from Baltimore.

I generally liked most of the presentation, BUT, this could be like an ‘open mic’.  It could have serious repercussions on & for our Representatives & Senators in ways we can not imagine. It could provoke press interest before they or Deanna are ready.
I think this should be discussed more & any & all such interviews should be carefully  vetted before being put out to the world.
