Hello all
I think I first forwarded this to the list serve when I heard about it, but
in either case, I'm forwarding on the notice for public input from the
State-wide Independent Living Council, who are looking for help from the
public regarding their central planning for the next 3-year period starting
in October. Below is a text version of the flier for their input sessions,
as well as a brief explanation of the mission of the group, below this
email.
Please consider attending at least one session if you can, as this helps
direct both funding for the main disability service providers in the state
as well as assisting in giving voice to the state legislature and governor's
office in regards to the disability community as a whole.
Thanks and here's the info for the three sessions, one in person and two via
zoom:
The Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC) is in the process of
creating its 2024-2027 State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL). The purpose
of the
SPIL is to describe how the state's network of Independent Living (IL)
programs and services will meet the independent living needs of persons with
disabilities
in the state. The plan must address how federal, state and other funds will
be used within the state to develop and maintain IL programs.
The key ingredient to this plan is your input! In order to be sure that the
SPIL reflects and properly responds to the needs of NH's citizens with
disabilities,
we need to hear from you about what your goals are, what barriers you face,
and what resources would best meet your needs.
For your convenience the SILC has scheduled the following public "drop-in"
sessions to receive your input about the future SPIL. Please come whenever
you
can within the time window and stay as long as you wish. CART and ASL
Interpretation will be provided. Inquires can be made to the NH SILC by
email at
Jennifer.I.Beaulieu at gcd.nh.gov or by phone at 603-271-2773.
