Federation Colleagues and Friends:

It is not clear to me at this juncture if I will be able to attend the annual summer picnic for our chapter/affiliate. I do not know if we are meeting in the same location that we did last year, but if this is the case, traveling to the picnic site via a taxi represents a significant investment, which I don’t know if I can justify making again this year. Nevertheless, when I have greater certainty around whether I can be present, I will write to let those responsible for picnic logistics know; I appreciate how important it is to have solid numbers in order to plan for an adequate, but not wasteful, event.

If somebody could confirm if the location for our August 16, 2025, picnic is the same as it was last year, I would be grateful. Whether the location is the same or different, for those who will be responsible for getting to this location, some driving or other directions might be useful to have as part of our planning. And, if I am able to attend, I’ll advise what I can contribute as we grow nearer to the date in question.

In the past the start time has been 11 am, with people showing up early to set up between 10 am and 11 am as needed.

As to the rest of the time, definitely people can feel free to drop in and out as they would like. I’ve usually left around 2 or 3, and I think in the past that’s when most folks drift out; I’ve also heard some times it’s gone later but I don’t know how rare that is.

Thanks all for the volunteering, and I can’t wait to see everyone in a few weeks! Please continue to let me and Randi know if you are bringing food and what it is, as well as any changes to your guest list by the 31st.

I'm so glad you guys are going to be able to make it. As I recall, we started approximately 11:00 a.m. last year but you guys were already set up when I arrived a little before 11:00! I think the general consensus is that we are there from 11:00 to 4:00 as a group but people can come and go as needed

Hopefully the weather will be absolutely beautiful that day as Fred has productive!

Kevin And I are really looking forward to spending time in person at the picnic with you all and of course helping with the grill again this year. 😊

I will be bringing a veggie tray and water in a cooler with ice.

We will have to scoot out a little after lunch as our daughter is running Hay Day in Farmington and she needs our help in the late afternoon.

Can you remind me what time to be there at the park for set up?

  I had the opportunity to sit in on a state-wide zoom about transportation for the disabled and elderly in NH. I think there was somebody there from Berlin.

  Keep NH Moving is working to make transportation better for us. In my mind, the big obstacles are volunteer drivers and funding. Thise are huge! But try to reach out to them and let me know what you think.

Andrew sent out an email recently about our upcoming picnic to Ellacoya State Park.

I want to follow-up as our deadlines is 10 days away.  

We are seeing many people are unable to attend and they will surely be missed. What we would love to see is who will be coming. 

We know Kelly and Kevin, who have kindly volunteered their kitchen and cooking skills again.  

We know Deanna and Dennis. 

Of course Andrew, more than likely myself, my husband and  Fred. 

I cannot recall right now any one else and I do apologize for that. 

So, to those planning to attend, if y'all could please give us a shout out with how many in your party and what you will be bringing,  that would be stellar! 

Head counts are important for the big Cosco run!
