Welcome Debby & Lisa! I live in Center Sandwich, NH with my sister. I learned about the NFB as a child when my mom became a sighted volunteer at the Washington, DC office ( there was no Baltimore HQ back then, but they were looking into possible locations nearby.) when I began losing my sight I joined the Lakes Region chapter in 2006, since I had moved to Sandwich with my parents at that time. My 1st NH state convention was that year - the 50th anniversary of the NH affiliate. My mom came with me & we had a blast!

I hope you enjoy the fellowship & fun times of our group! Hope you can join our zoom meeting tomorrow @ 10:30 a.m.

Warm wishes,
Deb Moore

>> I have been an NFB NH member since 2021. I call this group my soul tribe as they are a wonderful group of like-minded, empowered, and positive difference makers touching many lives with their advocacy.

>> I have been married for 25 years this July to my husband Kevin; we have two adult children and three adorable and energetic grandsons’, and we live in Farmington. Although originally from Massachusetts, I lived in Wolfeboro NH on Lake Winnipesaukee for a few years as a kid and developed a love for swimming.
>>
>> Nowadays I prefer a backyard pool over the ocean or lake, and I say “swim” loosely because it really depends upon my energy level LOL. Somedays, just a little floating in the pool can do wonders for my mental health and help me to feel grounded. Lucky for me we bought a 15-foot round Walmart pool during the pandemic and it is still standing today.
>>
>> After a couple of frustrating years with my husband having to work long hours and the pool being hard for him to manage, I decided I would give it a go and be the pool maintenance person in our home. With the help of my adult children, I learned to use my cell phone and the Clorox app to take pictures of the pool water tester strips. The app tells me what chemicals to add, how much to measure and if I really need extra help I send pictures to my kids.
>>
>> Last summer my husband, best friend Amanda and I built more accessible steps to the pool and found a nice safe ladder on Facebook Marketplace to attach to the steps. I can’t wait to get in there this year if only the rain would stop already!!

>> I look forward to hearing more about your journey and meeting you in our upcoming meetings!
