Stay Informed and Engaged on NFBnet
The National Federation of the Blind is actively engaged in resolving issues with NFBnet, our longstanding communication and hosting platform. The system remains functional currently, and we continue to work diligently to improve it.
Mail Delivery Update
Microsoft did not deliver mail from NFBnet.org to its mail domains for much of July. This situation appears to be mostly resolved at this time. However, email providers such as Yahoo, AOL, Verizon, Bellsouth, and possibly others processed by Microsoft are still not consistently delivering NFBnet emails to subscribers. The error messages indicate that the blocks are temporary, but there is little information or guidance.
Once these blocks are removed, normal mail delivery should resume. Some of our members may not be getting mail from NFBnet.org lists. Please share this update with members via forwarding directly to members or at your next chapter meeting.
Email Features Resolved
Earlier this year, NFBnet experienced other errors such as subscribing to lists, unreadable formatting, and extraneous characters in messages. Most of these issues have been resolved. Our software provider is working to resolve remaining issues that are not related to the mail delivery issue. Please report any issues or bugs you continue to experience.
Report Issues
If you have any questions or information to share regarding NFBnet, please contact David Andrews at David.Andrews at NFBnet.org. Thank you for understanding. We apologize for any inconvenience you are experiencing.
