Hello Deanna,

Hoping you are doing well today. Below are two mission statements that I have developed. I like the first one best:

1) The National Federation of the Blind New Hampshire Chapter was created to provide funding, relief, and supportive assistance, and to ensure the complete integration of blind and visually impaired persons living in the state of New Hampshire.

2) The NFB empowers and educates its members and communities by removing economic, educational, legal, medical, recreational, and societal barriers. Empowering the blind and visually impaired citizens of NH to live with confidence, equality, and purpose.

Here are a few of the mission statements that Randy Pierce offered:

1) We work tirelessly to improve the lives of blind people by fostering personal empowerment, coordinating nationwide advocacy, and building a greater understanding of blindness.

2) The NFB and state affiliates' purpose includes helping blind people achieve self-confidence, self-respect, and self-determination; and the ultimate goal of complete integration of the blind into society on a basis of equality.

3) The NFB emphasizes removing legal, economic, and societal barriers; educating the public; and promoting equal opportunity in employment, education, recreation, and healthcare.

4) The NFB’s mission in New Hampshire is to educate, advocate, and empower blind individuals to reach their highest potential — fostering self-determination, access, rights, and full participation in all parts of society.

I have some time on Thursday to give you a call around 12:00 to discuss the next steps with the mission statement. Wishing you a nice day!

Kindly,
Melissa Abbott
