Candidly, many times in my life but once again it is poignant today.</p><p class="MsoNormal">Many people already know that I have been dealing with a significant and complicated medical journey. What began as a temporary health leave gradually became something much longer, much more serious, and much more uncertain than I originally expected or hoped.</p><p class="MsoNormal">Throughout this process I have remained in close communication with leadership and the Board at Future In Sight as we thoughtfully evaluated both the realities of my recovery and the long term needs of the organization. Together, we ultimately reached the difficult but reasonable conclusion that the organization deserved steadier leadership presence than I am realistically able to provide right now.</p><p class="MsoNormal">Because of that reality, I have formally stepped away from my position as President and CEO of Future In Sight.</p><p class="MsoNormal">That is an extraordinarily difficult sentence for me to write.</p><p class="MsoNormal">Serving this mission and this community has been one of the greatest honors of my professional life. I remain incredibly proud of the work accomplished by the staff, Board, volunteers, donors, community partners, and the many individuals and families we have served together throughout New Hampshire.</p><p class="MsoNormal">Future In Sight is far more than a workplace to me. It is a mission built around helping people rediscover possibility, independence, confidence, and hope during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. I continue to believe deeply in that mission and in the people carrying it forward every day.</p><p class="MsoNormal">At the same time, I also need to be honest about my own reality. My recovery continues, but it remains slow and uncertain. I still have a long road ahead before I fully understand what my future capabilities and \u201cnew normal\u201d may ultimately look like. While I remain hopeful and determined to continue fighting toward the best recovery possible, I also have to approach that journey with honesty, patience, and realism.</p><p class="MsoNormal">This Saturday is the Future In Sight Walk for Sight, an event that means a great deal to me personally. I fully intend to be there in support of a mission and community that I care about deeply. Whether I am physically able to complete the walk itself will honestly depend on how I am doing that day, but either way I look forward to celebrating the people, purpose, and impact behind the event.</p><p class="MsoNormal">While my role moving forward will clearly look different than I once expected, my belief in this mission and my appreciation for the people connected to it remain unchanged.</p><p class="MsoNormal">To everyone who has offered support, encouragement, patience, kindness, prayers, and understanding throughout this difficult chapter, thank you.
