IMPROVING BLOOD FLOW TO YOUR FEET

Many people with diabetes experience discomfort in their feet or legs, with symptoms such as cramping, numbness, tingling, and pain. Two common causes for these symptoms are peripheral arterial disease (PAD), in which arteries in the legs narrow and harden, restricting blood flow, and diabetic peripheral neuropathy, in which nerves in the feet and legs are damaged. In people for whom limited blood flow to the feet is an issue, a complementary form of therapy known as "WarmFeet," which uses guided imagery and biofeedback, can help relieve pain. Just what is WarmFeet and how does it work? Check out this week's Article of the Week, "Improving Blood Flow to the Feet: The Power of Relaxation and Biofeedback," to find out.

Also be sure to read this week's Breaking News piece to learn about a new type of insulin delivery device that was recently approved by the FDA.
